Where is next for cosmonomad?

Thinking about my next adventure and its destination. I’m desperately missing Japan and Russia, but there is still so much uncharted territory that it seems unwise to return to either, yet. Decisions! I can, however, tell you with complete certainty that I will NOT be going to Dubai. In a turn of wonderful fortune and thanks to the massive effort put forth by his friends, colleagues, and many of you fine peeps Diz is finally returning home from Dubai where …

New York, part the Third [shortly following part 2]

Afternoon tea in company of wonderful women at the lavish Arium. The talented and worldly Lisa Mei kindly switched cups with me – I wanted blue roses. I hope to see them all again soon. Then it was off to Element to hang my paintings. As you can see I was very sleepy from the previous night’s festivities. After, we headed out for ramen, walking through colorful neighborhoods of Greenwich Village. One of my favorite walks in recent history. Then …

Not motivated for NYC #2 update, yet. New painting, very early in the process. Oil …

New York: part 1

Flew Virgin America for the first time, which was very pretty and slick. Sadly, the seats didn’t recline nearly far enough for an overnight flight and the seat to seat chat seems a bit on the creepy side. Click the image below to be taken to the Virgin set on Flickr. Stayed in Brooklyn’s Park Slope with Mark – college friend of D’s – and his ladyfriend Sophia. I’d never spent time in Brooklyn before, and really dug it. Their …

3D Rococo apparatus, continued

Just as I was mentioning my plans to re-create my Rococo technology designs in actual metal yesterday, someone talented took it upon themselves to create this delightful 3D model. Brings the project to life, it do.

Hello from the Dubai tourism board!

This is a direct cross-post from Coilhouse, my appologies to anyone who is reading it twice. Diz and Mil. Friends, one of Our People is in serious trouble. Mildred’s partner, Diz, has been arrested in Dubai for melatonin, an over-the-counter aid for jet lag. You can read the full story here, on Mildred’s LJ. I quote: We kind of knew he would be profiled because he has long hair and looks oriental (they are very racist against Asians in Dubai, …
