At this exact moment I’m in North Hollywood, about to get tattooed for the first time in 3 years by the one and only mister Tim Kern. Needless to say I’m extremely excited. Today we’ll be working on finishing my back piece. Sweet baby Einstein it’s been much too long.
In other news, I’m still not mentally prepared to talk about Vegas and likely never will be. However, I’m happy to let you know that I’ll be in Austin, TX very soon – blogging the music portion of SXSW this year. And now it’s time for my subdermal ink injection. ZOOM!
Well it’s about time! :P
Look forward to seeing the results!
Austin is good times. I’m living there now going to grad school at UT. SXSW should be awesome, and I wish my grad student income would allow me to attend. Alas, all my money goes towards getting to nerdy academic conferences. If you haven’t been to Austin before you should go see a show at the Alamo Drafthouse, a Master Pancake viewing if possible. Also, check out UT’s Blanton Museum of Art. It’s quite impressive. We have lots of other goodies that aren’t on display such, as Peruvian penis pots.
I’m in Austin as well & I’m really looking forward to SXSW. I’m going to the Interactive portion but I always check out the free shows because there are so many during the week – you can see lots of bands even if you don’t have a wristband or cash :)
Be sure to go to Hey Cupcake on South Congress & get yourself some cupcake love.
I’m really looking forward to it! Someone was also telling me about a really cool late-night movie theater. Do you guys know its name?
It usually takes a lot to impress me with a tattoo – and with that said, all I can say is ‘wow’. That’s some fiiine work there.
Oh, and I think the theatre you’re thinking of is the Dobie. Or maybe the Alamo?? Probably the Dobie…
The Alamo Drafthouse is the chain of theatres around town that will ruin you for all other theatres. I highly recommend going to a Master Pancake show if you can- it’s like Mystery Science Theatre but live. They did an awesome send-up of the Matrix, which might still be playing while you’re there. The food is great there too. Try the Guinness Milkshake (which sounds weird, but you won’t regret it).
Here’s the Alamo’s website:
