A break from our regular programming, folks, as this is a bit of an emergency. If you’re in or new Los Angeles, please listen up and take a moment to think if you know anyone who could help.
This is Robbie. Robbie was adopted by our landlord a couple of months ago, before he realized that the pup is too big to play with his 5-year old kid, and vice versa. Now, Robbie needs a new home, by Friday.
He’s about a year and half, and has had kind of a rough life. He needs a home with a large yard and someone who can devote a couple of hours daily to playing with him. He’s fun-loving and very energetic, and gets sad if he doesn’t get to exercise and socialize. He protects his home and sometimes that means barking, but he can be trained. He sits, shakes hands, and rolls over. He wouldn’t be good for a house with kids under 10 y.o., just because he’s a big boy and might knock a little one over while playing. He is really, very sweet and curious, loves hugs and having his belly scratched. He has the personality of a class clown and by the grace of Einstein, if I had a huge house with a huge yard I would be keeping him forever and ever.
If you, or anyone you know can adopt him, please, please contact me ASAP. Tweet and Facebook the hell out of this post. There are just two days left before he’s taken to a pound.
This makes me so sad—if I weren’t on the east coast I’d snatch up this pupper in a heartbeat.
If I weren’t a full-time international student, I would have taken him in… :(
Will tweet + repost!
Contact http://www.themuttscouts.wordpress.com or any rescue before the pound!
I wish I lived there so I could help. Will be tweeting/FB-ing this all day for sure.
I’ve Tweeted and Facebooked.
I second what Sonya says, there are plenty of LA-based animal rescue groups that work to keep animals out of the pound and placed in good homes.
Here’s another that might help:

I Wish I Lived in L.A. instead of D.C. I have a large yard and no little kids. I could defiantly take him if it wasn’t for living so far away.
Interested! Contact me if he still needs a home. I’d love to meet him.
awww! this pup is sooo adorable. it really makes me sad… if i was in la i would adopt him asap…
Please don’t let him go to the pound. I would love to have him but I’m in Vancouver BC and that’s a long way away . If you can’t find him another home closer, please be in touch.Maybe we can work something out
I agree with the previous posters that you should DEFINITELY look into an animal rescue group before the pound. They will keep him in a foster home before someone adopts him. Here are a few more options in LA:

Guys, just a quick note to say that Robbie’s not my dog, but thanks for all the support, getting the word out and for the links – I’m forwarding them all to the dog’s current owner!
If Robbie is in dire need, I work for a rescue that has a base in LA that will transport him up to Vancouver. Check the Penny Foundation website..

If he is to become a Vancouver dog, he will go to Sharon! (who for the record would make the best mommy ever!!!)
My boyfriend & I adopted our dog from Strangest Angels Animal Rescue here in LA…http://strangestangels.org/
I don’t know if they could take Robbie but our pup was happy and well cared for there, we’ve had none of the issues with him that some rescue dogs have.
I have met and played with this sweet boy, and he is truly wonderful. I already have two dogs and am not allowed by my landlord to have more, or this wonderful dog would be living with me. Please, please help him. I promise it will be worth it!
where exactly in l.a. are you? can we come meet him?
larchmont village conduct a dog adoption on sundays, you can take him there and loads of people can meet him, next to the farmers market ans ask for jessica…
Wow i live in a loft Downtown LA so i don’t have a back yard. There is a dog run in my building and a doggy day care. I would love to consider Robbie. The only thing is sometimes i work really long hours. I shoot Commercials. If in the end nothing is coming along for Robbie i would be willing to have a new love in my life. I grew up with a dog and periodically have had wonderful dogs in my life. Im rooting for you Robbie!!!! I will ask around also. Nico
We are not back in the country til October. If he needs to be taken to a pound, please recommend that they take him to the Glendale Humane Society on Ivy (off San Fernando) in Glendale. It is a wonderful, no-kill, private shelter and they will find him a home! Tell them to say I recommended them – they know us there. We adopted our wonderful dog Dora there.
For anyone still checking this feed, Robbie is living with us now– in a big house with a yard with 3 other dogs, in British Columbia. And he’s doing great :)
