I know it’s tumbleweed city around here right now, but, as always, this lull shall pass. I’m busy with Coilhouse operations, shooting a lot for SG, as well as taking care of our home and my ever-fickle health. I hope to appease you with an art poll, a collage of recent webcam pics and video of a lovely girl modeling one of my Wiloh tees for their catalog. First, the poll. my last print offer went very well, so I …

Time has come to work on new artstuff, which means two things: 1. I’ll be difficult to get a hold of [shush to groaning friends and relatives!]. 2. I’ve set up my work area for the foreseeable future. This process was a bit hasty and it all feels only half-baked, but it’s sufficient for my needs, providing a large, organized area in which to do my thing, with my silver drawing board up, magnets and dry-erase markers handy. I imagine …

I’ve been holding on to all of these since early August. All shot on the same day, in the same park, with the same camera. The fairytale pretty much weaves itself when I look at these, you might find it doing the same for you. Models, in order of appearance: Stepho, Amanda, Katie, Catelin.

Today is for taking it easy, wrapping up recent print orders, and tidying the house after the three-day weekend. Labor Day weekend is usually an eerily quiet time here, as everyone’s out of town to catch the last bits of summer, or to commune with the desert spirits at Burning Man. We decided to spend yesterday’s holiday wandering around downtown LA, enjoying the vacant streets and breezy afternoon sunshine, thus stripping ourselves of even more goth points than usual. Alas. …

Finally, a moment to wade through the hundreds of San Francisco photos. I managed to get this round down to under 100, but it must stop here. It’s been over an hour! I’ve hand-picked a few favorites for the post, and the rest are under the jump in a gallery. To navigate, click an image and then use the bar at the bottom of the window. To start off, here is a photo strip from a booth at the Musee …

When you get together with out-of-town friends, it best be memorable. This is precisely why I decided to join my usually remote comrades Gala, Nubby, Amy, Kevin, and Danielle at Disneyland. It had been years since my previous visit, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew there would be rides and crowds, but would I still have fun after the initial shock of colors and people wore off? I took a billion photos [we all did, naturally] …

Today is a big fat Ikea day, starting in about an hour so this is just a quick update to say that a kind young lady heard about Robbie, the chow/border collie mix, through Biorequiem, and has now met and expressed interest in adopting him. If all goes well, Robbie will be moving by the end of the week. Thank you again to everyone who has offered suggestions and helped get the word out! I’ll update again if there’s any …

Just a quick dispatch to greet the coming week with a picture I took yesterday at Rattlesnake Park during one of Lou O’Bedlam‘s infamous photo-gatherings. It was a day of bagels, mimosas, grasshoppers, and, yes, rattlesnake sightings. For Amanda and me it was also a day of hiking, and sliding down, impossibly steep hills covered in dried vines to get the shots we wanted. A fine day. Click the image to see it a little bigger.

Today is my mom’s birthday. Yep, our birthdays are less than a week apart! This is my mom, pictured here with a wild beast: I love this picture. Happy birthday, Mothra! Enjoy cavorting in Laguna Beach! Coincidentally, when I walked over to the post office today to ship art prints, there was a package from the Czech Republic waiting for me. O double-glorious day! A’s mom has been back from India for over a month now, and she brought back …

Happy sleep, mind you. Though, as always, I didn’t get to see every panel or every attending friend that I wanted to, this was one of the best Cons ever for me. In part because I got to meet a ton of shifty internet types I’d been in orbit with over the past few years, in part because I finally managed to make it to all the parties I’d missed in the past, in part because A came, too, and …
