Stay tuned for more Coliseum, Vatican Museum, Forum, and the jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring St. Peter’s Basilica. See also: EuroZoom 2011, Part 1. Photo Flurry 064 – Wondertrip

I’m in the process of releasing several exciting new merch items into the world, dyeing my hair, planning my trip to Italy and France next week [oh god], and scrambling to catch up on a month worth of work. Still, I’m intent on updating more. First up, a few outtakes from our trip to WonderCon, in San Francisco. I have a couple of related galleries coming to Chinashop sometime next week, as well. Somewhere between LA and SF, nestled in …

Photo Flurry 063 – Love

And now, to celebrating the finer things in life. Another favorable aspect of my Denver journey: hangin’ with these love-beasts. Introducing Filya, the eternal Labrador puppy intent on showering the world with adoration and saliva, and Kuzya, the deceptively lithe three-legged cat who insisted on sleeping directly on top of me the entirety of my stay. FEEL IT.

Photo Flurry 061 – Up in the Park

This is what I require, as often as time allows: Air, and green, and gophers, and a good book above the city. And watching Micron watch the gophers. There is no way to truly know whether she wants to befriend or destroy them. We let her get close enough to see and really smell them, but not close enough to find out her intentions. I’m 3/4 through Rant, but managed to resist plunging my hand into all those inviting burrows. …

Photo Flurry 060 – A Valentine’s Day Time Capsule, 2006

Epic invitation by Lumi Once upon a time, Lumi and I had a Valentine’s Day party for the ages. Not just any Valentine’s Day party, mind you – it was called “L’amour Epineux” and our tag-line was, “Love Hurts”. The party celebrated every V-Day cliche and was vaguely fetish-themed, from what I recall. A [cough] trained butler was on hand to take coats and serve refreshments. We had all manner of food and desert and party favors, too – among …

A and I took a disposable camera and mango wraps to the edge of the ocean. There, we sat on salty rocks that were once part of the city and got acquainted with hermit crabs, urchins, and other tide-pool inhabitants. These aren’t scans – I photographed the prints with my digital camera, so they aren’t as crisp as in real life. And a few more that A took, in the park nearby.

Photo Flurry 058 – Keeping Brains Bumpin’

December, with its new year’s eve and the preceding lunar eclipse was immensely, eerily transformative, so much so it surprised even me. I spent much of the month away from work, sorting things out, cleaning, and filling pages of my Moleskine, laying out plans and cataloging everything the past year effectuated. New Year’s eve itself was an awakening experience. Now, after nearly a month of  reflection and plotting, I’m armed and ready to take 2011 in top form. Rarrf! This …

With only a few days left until 2011, this will be the final Biorequiem post for 2010, but I’ll still be around on FB and Twitter. I’m staring down the gaping maw of a monstrous to-do list and my brain is completely overrun with travel plans, the Wikileaks situation, and dancing squirrels, so no words today. However, the incomparable Allan Amato sent over a bunch of images from our early autumn shoot, so, voila! Everything from my standard supervillainous self to tan-lines and pit bulls. Photo Flurry 055 – Getting Tattooed at Tribulation, NYC

This summer, I went to NYC where, in addition to having adventures with Molly and Sam, I also finally got my upper back tattoo finished by the talented Tm Kern, after getting it started back in 2005. Though this was the third time Tim tattooed me, it was the first session we had on his home turf. Tim’s shop, Tribulation Tattoo, is filled to the roof with art and taxidermy, so Samantha snapped away while patiently waiting the entire three-and-a-half …

Photo Flurry 053: David J Haskins

Four of the several photos I shot of David J at The Standard hotel downtown, for the interview Mer conducted this summer. The full shabang is up on Coilhouse today. An excerpt from the intro: … for now, he’s holding court at our corner table, and he’s got Zo and I doubled over in helpless fits of laughter. As our cackling reaches a crescendo, fellow patrons look up from their $20 cheeseburgers in confusion. Perhaps this pale, slim, soft spoken …

Photo Flurry 052: Skingraft at LAFW

Still busy, however! Last week, Clint Catalyst and I jumped into a rented Escalade, zoomed downtown, haphazardly strapped Clint into a chain harness [these things are unrelated], and attended what was likely LA Fashion Week’s best night: the Ashton Michael, Skingraft, and Anthony Franco triple threat show. Coverage here, a few pictures below, and more after the jump. Do enjoy! The upstairs lobby of the gorgeous LA Stock Exchange was transformed into a glowing bar, serving up popcorn, tiny cupcakes, …
