Photo Flurry

Feeling fresh n’ sassy because I got a grand total of thirty minutes to poke through the photos accumulating on my hard drive last night! This post is dedicated to the LA Noir art show – the one I made The Centipede and Rachael for. Here are a few photos I managed to snap between sipping Manhattans, ogling all the art and being fabulous in an outfit I really wish I’d documented.

As I’d mentioned before, the exhibit was held in a beautiful house in Echo Park, a house with rich, dark wood paneling, steep staircases, an aviary, and this view:

If I ever buy a house in LA it will be in Echo Park.

The night was a glittering blur of art, burning Bibles and laughs, as you will see for yourselves by scrolling down.

There were many of these guys, created by various participants of the show. This was one of my favorites – such a beautiful smile!

And speaking of beautiful smiles, this is Josh, one of our hosts and curators. Also bartender for the night.

The walking, barking terror that is Fernando – Josh’s unholy creation.

Josh made this delightful triclops, as well.

The chirping aviary on the back patio. There were literally mountains of baby birds in the back of the cage, huddling together in stacks, for warmth.

The aforementioned burning Bible.

Bernie – the stinky, sleepy, lovable beast.

The mirror-filled coffin at entrance lets you know how it is.

Unrelated and awesome.

Time to make tea, open all the windows and inhale the cool October morning fog.
