This is the gloriously decrepit abandoned building I mentioned in my previous post.
It’s a former glass factory that’s now home to skating competitions and other indie events, though probably not for much longer – this place is literally falling apart. You can read a little bit more about it here, at the website of the now-defunct Fažana Skate Film Festival.
(Examining a neat bug.)
The color treatment you’ve been using on all of your images lately has been perfect!
Thanks! I like how it punches up the sunniness of late Croatian summertime, too.
Your last posts make me want to travel through Europe even more. I’m thinking about doing the InterRail next summer with my boyfriend and I’m very interested on your travels and the nice places you are visiting. I’m glad you are sharing. Thank you.
Sabrina, I took the EuroRail when I graduated high school as a present to myself for surviving. It was a great experience and adventure, I hope you give it a whirl!
Oh yay, I am so glad you liked my homeland (Croatia)! Well, at least small chunk of it you saw. I’ve been reading and loving your website for years and couldn’t resist the impulse to leave you a comment after I saw you were vacationing in Croatia. :) Pozdrav!
Hi Martina – welcome and hvala for commenting! Croatia was a delight – I hope to see more of sometime!
Whoa, these sent me down a memory lane I hadn’t traveled in years. I dated a skater in high school and there weren’t many skate parks back then so we ended up in places very very similar to this, sometimes walking and skating for miles to get to them. So interesting to see their sister spot in a land far far away. Thank you. Such interesting graffiti in photo 5! :)
Love the color scheme on these, makes a derelict building look positively cheery!
